Make your own paper Ivy plant with free shapes in Cricut Design Space

Paper plants are great for a plant lover who just can't seem to keep them alive! (We've all been there)

With your Cricut machine, the sky is the limit with project creation and all machines could create this project!

I used free basic shapes that can be found in the shapes area in Canvas. Using the tools slice and weld, it is amazing the different shapes you can create!

If you are a beginner I recommend reading my Design Space for beginners blog here, if you are wanting to understand further how to create your own designs, subscribe to my newsletter here and receive a free PDF guide on how plus free tutorials and tips and tricks!

You will need...

Cricut Joy, Cricut Explore Air 2, Cricut Maker, Cricut Maker 3 or Cricut Explore 3 machine

LightGrip cutting mat

Green cardstock (a few shades)

White colouring pencil

Florist Wire

Florist Foam

Plant pot

Pebbles

Glue Gun

Hot glue

How to make:

Step 1: Select 2 hearts from the shapes area and overlap halfway. Select both and use the ‘slice’ tool.

Step 2: Keep the centre slice pieces that are shaped like raindrops.

Step 3: Duplicate the shapes and form a leaf shape with the points facing outwards and the rounded ends overlapping in the middle. I created a five pointed leaf and three pointed leaf.

Step 4: Select all and weld together. Duplicate as many leaves as needed in a variety of sizes.

Step 5: Cut out your leaves from cardstock!

Step 6: Use a white colouring pencil and create veins on each leaf.

Step 7: Add florist foam and stones to your pot. Then take your florist wire and insert into the pot, bend over and then cut smaller pieces of wire to wrap around this as stems coming from it. Do this until you are happy with the amount of stems you have.

Step 8: Use a glue gun, secure the leaves to the wire. Start from the top and work your way down.

Easy to create and looks fabulous.
